THE innovation consultancy arm of Oxford University has been spun-out as an independent company.
Oxentia was set up in 2004 as Isis Enterprise but changed its name in April.
Clients include universities, governments, corporates and start-ups.
Oxford University Innovation will be a shareholder in Oxentia.
Botley Road-based OUI files the highest number of university patents in the UK and has created more than 160 companies since 1988, including NaturalMotion and robotics and driverless car firm Oxbotica.
Oxentia chief executive Steve Cleverley said: “The move from department to independent company is the most exciting chapter in the Oxentia story to date.”
