Photographer and business woman Mel Taylor has won two national awards. Mrs Taylor, who specialises in what she calls ‘paw-traits’, has a studio in Letcombe Regis.

She was awarded membership of the Guild of Photographers’ bar, based on monthly submissions of work and has also been included in a list of top 20 UK photographers.

She said: “Pet photography has really taken off.

“My business is growing nicely and I’m gaining recognition for my animal portraits.”

Photographers Guild director Lesley Thirsk said: “Having images assessed every month for a year and reaching the required standards to become a member of the Photographers Bar is very demanding.”
