HAYDAN O’Callaghan has been convicted of the murder of musician Aaron Buron in Rose Hill.
A jury at Oxford Crown Court this afternoon unanimously found the 18-year-old guilty of the 29-year-old’s murder in March.
There were cheers from the public gallery as the verdict was announced.
O’Callaghan had admitted stabbing Mr Buron to death in St Martin’s Road but denied he intended to kill him.
Mr Buron had tried to break up a fight between O’Callaghan and his girlfriend Latasha Peck before O’Callaghan chased him down the street and stabbed him three times with a kitchen knife.
The court heard yesterday O’Callaghan had drank 10 pints of beer and 15 whiskies before the attack.
