VISITORS to Oxford this weekend are invited to get creative with chalk and leave their mark on Oxford Castle.
The Big Draw, a national event, encourages people to explore their creativity through drawing.
The event at Oxford Castle – Unlocked will feature a large map of Oxford on the ground, on which people can “draw their stories, whether real or imagined”.
Oxford illustrator Phillip Jones, who will be helping out budding artists, said: “Everyone has got the ability, you don’t have to be a professional, and you don’t have to have any experience. Just get out and do. It is a great way to celebrate Oxford.”
The event has been organised by Oxford Castle – Unlocked and the O3 Gallery.
O3 manager Helen Statham said: “Established artists will join forces with visitors to Oxford Castle in order to create a series of chalk drawings that will reach right across Castle Yard.”
The event is free and runs tomorrow and Sunday from 10am until 4pm on both days.
