THE Oxford Cheese Company is celebrating after receiving three gongs at the British Cheese Awards.
Oxford Isis, a cheese washed with Oxfordshire honey mead, was the company’s biggest winner with gold in the semi soft cheese category.
College White came away with silver in the soft white cheese category, and Oxford Blue won bronze in the blue cheese category.
Managing director Robert Pouget said: “It just confirms that if we concentrate on producing quality produce, we will reap the rewards.”
Assistant manager Pete Slade said: “It is fantastic and I am very, very proud to be part of the Oxford Cheese Company.
“It is part of the fabric of Oxford and the Covered Market. It is a bit of an institution now and to get the cheeses recognised on a national scale is a real honour.”
The British Cheese Awards took place on Friday.
