ASPIRE Oxford is a charity that aims to transform lives, and this week it received a very special visit from someone who knows all about achieving your dreams.

Paralympic swimmer Stephanie Millward has multiple sclerosis, but she won four silver medals and one bronze at the Beijing Games.

The 31-year-old athlete, who lives in Wiltshire, took along one of her medals to the Oxford charity, which finds employment for homeless and disadvantaged people, and donated her team GB uniform from the Beijing Olympics to help raise cash for the charity.

She said: “They want to help everybody which is fantastic.

“They use all the resources they can get their hands on and they turn nothing into something amazing.”

Chief executive Jenny Fox said: “We are honoured that someone has chosen to donate these things that are obviously hard-earned.

“She is donating because she really loves what we do and understands what it means to turn your life around.

“Our service users, people who have been in prison and on the streets, were holding a silver medal and were just really emotional about it.”
