ROGER McGough opened The Blenheim Literary Festival with a selection of his newest poems.
The Liverpool performance poet was reading extracts from his latest book, As Far As I Know, at an event in The Orangery at the palace on Wednesday evening.
He said: “It was the first time I have been to this festival but it was a lovely venue. I wish I could have stayed longer.
“I think it went well. No one threw anything or walked out.”
Other events at this year’s festival include a performance by Elkie Brooks and appearances by David Aaronovitch and Ken Hom.
Festival director Sally Dunsmore said: “We have had lots of good audiences and lots of people buying books and enjoying themselves.”
