PENSIONER Jean Adams was treated like a movie star when she walked the red carpet at a summer fun day.
She was one of 200 residents of care homes and sheltered housing across Oxfordshire who enjoyed the Hollywood-themed party on Wednesday last week.
The 87-year-old, from Langford View Care Centre in Bicester, said: “I felt like a queen and I’ve never felt so special.”
Guests enjoyed a fish and chip meal and ice cream as well as live music, at The King’s Centre in Osney Mead, Oxford.
The event was organised by The Orders of St John Care Trust.
A red carpet, giant Oscar statues and golden balloons decorated the venue.
Sharon Wheeler, activities and volunteers manager for the trust, said: “The day is all about getting all the care homes together to enjoy the day and meet new people.
“We always have a theme for the fun day – the residents love dressing up. The Hollywood glitz and glamour gave them a chance to get their posh frocks out.”
She added: “I would also like to thank all the volunteers who helped out on the day.”
