EAST Oxford took a lot of pleasure in raising about £7,000 for charity on Sunday. The cash was raised for Oxford children and young adults’ hospice Helen & Douglas House at the fun day at St Gregory the Great School.
The day included an inflatable obstacle course, archery, ice cream and miniature Shetland ponies. There was also a football tournament with 32 teams.
Sam Thompson, 33, from Percy Street, took his 18-month-old son Oisin to enjoy the day. Mr Thompson said: “We hadn’t been before but it was a fun day in a good cause.”
Amar Latif, one of the organisers from Oxford Charity Fun Days, said: “Probably about 1,500 people came. And everyone seemed to have a lot of fun. It was a really good community day out.”
