GREYHOUNDS: All eyes are on Wimbledon bid
REPORTS from Ireland indicate that a consortium led by Pascal Taggart could be in line to purchase Oxford Stadium’s sister track at Wimbledon.
Wimbledon, home of the blue riband of greyhound racing, The Derby, is the No 1 of the six tracks under the Greyhound Racing Association banner, which also includes Oxford.
I understand, that if the sa le goes ahead, there are plans to demolish the vast site completely with the intention of building a state of the art stadia and making it a leading sports venue.
A decision should be made in the next few weeks.
If the sale does go ahead it will be the first of the GRA stadiums to be sold under the ownership of Capital Risk Partners, the GRA’s owners.
