Two Oxfordshire skydivers have made history as part of an all-woman, all-conquering team.

Amanda Kemp, from Didcot, and Claire Scott, from Bicester, were part of the UK women's skydiving team that took the top prize at the UK Championships.

It was the first time an all-female team has won the event and the women now have their sights on more success.

Julia Foxwell and Emma Beyer complete the quartet, known as Airkix, along with camera flyer Andy Wright.

The team, who were crowned women's world champions earlier this month, beat an all-male army team into second place.

Now they want the inscription on the prestigious trophy - that reads 'Four-man Parachuting National Champions' - changed accordingly.

"The UK skydiving scene is very competitive and to win overall is fantastic," said Mrs Beyer. "It has been a great year for the team and we're grateful for all the support we have had from sponsors and partners, they've helped us make our dreams a reality."

The team trains at Weston-on-the-Green and the women are now considering giving up their day jobs to turn professional.

They were crowned women's world champions in Germany on August 10 after beating off stiff competition from France and Russia.

Mrs Kemp was also a stunt double for Angelina Jolie in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider 2.
