THE expansion at RAF Brize Norton has been on the cards for a while now.
However, the sheer extent has just been revealed by the Ministry of Defence, in a move which will see the number of people at the base double.
There are currently 3,900 personnel working on the site, with 6,600 set to call Brize home by 2016.
What it means is a huge boost to the local economy, at a very welcome time, and the fact the RAF will call our county home for years to come.
