Q. What vehicle do you drive?

A. Ford Fiesta 1.4 Zetec 1999.

Q. How long have you had it?

A. I’ve been driving it for two and a half years. That’s when my first daughter was born and that’s the day when the great Almighty gave with one hand and took away with the other. I was given the most precious beautiful baby girl and had to hand my VW Golf 4motion silver dream machine to the wife. She got the good family car... that’s why I drive the Fiesta!

Q. How much did it cost?

A. I have no idea, the wife bought it knowing that one day she would hand the keys to me, so probably as little as possible...

Q. What work have you done to the vehicle?

A. Something called a ‘bush’ had to be replaced earlier this year for about £45 to get it through the MOT.

Q. Why did you get this particular vehicle?

A. For the record again, I did not go out to buy this car, it was given to me under huge amounts of pressure!

Q. What do you like most about it?

A. I like the fact that it has done 108,000 miles – it means that the day is getting closer that it will cease to function.

Q. What irritates you most about it?

A. That it is not a VW Golf 4motion silver dream machine... oh, and I have to get in and out of the passenger side and crawl over as the driver’s side door is broken.

Q. Is it good value for money?

A.At 108,000 miles unfortunately YES.

Q. Does it have a name?

A. The devil’s car.

Q. What is your favourite memory of the vehicle?

A. The time when it snowed last winter and I had to take the VW Golf 4motion silver dream machine to work... I was driving away from the Fiesta smiling. That’s my favourite memory, drving away from it....

Q. And your worst?

A. The next day when the snow had melted...

Q. If you could own any vehicle what would it be?

A. I just want my Golf back...

Q. What was your first car? How much did it cost and how long did you own it?

A. Austin Allegro, mustard colour, registration GPH 520N (how come I still remember that?) it had a square steering wheel, it cost £400 and was written off on the M25 when a Dunkin Donuts van when right up the back of me... Sad times, I loved that car!
