The victim of a fatal stabbing in Oxford this morning was from the city, police have confirmed.
Chief Inspector Cecilia Agger said a 16-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of murder is also from Oxford.
She appealed for witnesses to the incident near Que Pasa at the junction of Queen Street and Castle Street at 3am.
Chief Insp Agger said the 22-year-old victim, who suffered stab wounds to his torso.
People working near the scene of the stabbing have given their reaction.
Fernando Paiva, manager of Greens Cafe, said: "The road was closed when we got here this morning.
"We shut at 7.30pm last night we didn't see anything.
"We never see anything like this. It's normally very quiet."
A worker at Castle News said: "The street was closed when I got in at about 7am. The police haven't told us anything."
A bar manager at the Swan and Castle pub said: "Everyone's just wanting to know what happened."
