Cornbury Festival line-up unveiled


The line-up for this year’s Cornbury Festival near Charlbury has been announced this morning.

Hugh Phillimore, the festival organiser, announced that David Gray, Squeeze and the Noisettes would play on Saturday, July 3 with Jackson Browne, The Feeling, Newton Faulkner and The Blockheads playing on Sunday, July 4.

Full details of the line-up and ticket prices for the festival is now on the website cornburyfestival.com Mr Philimore said: “We got there in the end and I am very pleased — I am a huge Jackson Browne fan and I am thrilled that we have got The Feeling back.

“I promised my wife that we would break even in year seven and that is what I am planning to do.

“There will be lots of Morris dancing and lots of kids doing street theatre — it’s just a great family festival and the 12s and under get in free and so do the over-70s. ”

Disappointing line-up to be honest. David Gray as headliner AGAIN? And the Feeling AGAIN? Blockheads, Squeeze and Dr John could be interesting but can't see people being too excited by this.

"...lots of Morris dancing" surely "some Morris dancing" would be plenty. And indeed, David A-Gray-n? the man's duller than a room full of accountants, and about as musical. Looking forward to Squeeze though.
