Overnight snow has meant Oxford Bus Company is not running services in and out of Barton this morning.

The roads on the estate are described as “extremely difficult”, meaning the company’s number 8 services are instead turning around at the Green Road roundabout.

The weather has also led to problems in the centre of Wheatley, with Bookes Bus U1 services just serving the Park Hill roundabout by the A40 However, a full service has now resumed through Kennington and Radley on the number 35 service.

Full services have also been restored to:

• Elms Rise and Sandleigh Road on the number 4.

• Wolvercote on the number 6.

• Northway on the number 13/X13.

• Didcot Broadway on the number X2.

The Espress service to London and the airline services to Heathrow and Gatwick were all running as normal this morning.

Oxford Bus Company spokesman Phil Ashworth said: “There are still a few areas where the roads are untreated — it’s still too dangerous to run buses on those roads.

“We estimate we are now serving over 97 per cent of our route mileage.

“Our operations team is checking the routes on a regular basis and missing parts of routes will be restored as soon as it’s safe to do so.”
