Celebrities dropped into Bicester Village yesterday to launch the shopping centre’s Christmas charity appeal.
The in-crowd included model Caprice Bourret, pictured with six-year-old Kharis Stevenson, Holby City actress Tina Hobley and socialite Tamara Beckwith.
The designer outlet shopping centre is raising money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation until Christmas Eve.
Nicola Formby, the partner of food critic AA Gill and contributing editor to Tatler magazine, invited the celebrities to bring their children to a VIP shopping day to promote the charity.
Ms Bourret, who is also an actress and underwear and swimwear designer, said: “I’m here to support the kids and raise awareness of this charity, that makes wishes come true.”
Anna Keddie, marketing director of Bicester Village, said: “It’s a lovely charity. It grants wishes for children between the ages of three and 17 with life-threatening diseases.
“We’re looking forward looking to working with them and raising as much money as possible this Christmas.”
Fundraising ideas range from a gift wrapping service to the sale of star-shaped badges. Proceeds from boutique sales from Friday, November 6, to Sunday, November 8, and a family day on Thursday, November 12, will help boost the total.
Karen England, director of fundraising for the charity, said: “We grant about 700 wishes each year. They range from ‘I wish to meet’ to ‘I wish to go’ – at this time of year we tend to get ‘I want to meet Father Christmas’.”
