Two teenagers have been jailed after inflicting “life-changing” injuries on a man during an attack outside Oxford crematorium.
Karn Matthews and Cory Harry, both 18 and from Strawberry Path, in Blackbird Leys, were jailed for a total of more than five years at Oxford Crown Court on Friday.
Matthews was sentenced to four and a half years after admitting causing grievous bodily harm with intent to endanger life.
Meanwhile, Harry received a nine-month prison sentence after admitting committing actual bodily harm.
It followed an attack on a 19-year-old man in November outside the crematorium in Bayswater Road, Barton, which left the victim with a fractured elbow.
He also suffered an eye injury after being shot with a airgun.
Det Sgt Darren Cartwright said: “The injuries are both permanent and life changing for the 19-year-old man. This stiff sentence reflects the life that has been ruined over a minor argument and the two men must now suffer the consequences of their actions with a term of imprisonment.”
