The owner of an Abingdon takeaway has been fined £300 by environmental health officers for not disposing of rubbish properly in the first case of its kind in the Vale of White Horse District Council area.

However, the authority has refused to name the establishment as no court case was involved.

Environmental health officers visited the takeaway following complaints about how rubbish was being disposed.

The owner failed to produce a valid waste disposal documents - having been given 14 days to do so - and received a fixed penalty notice of £300.
