Pre-schools and nurseries across Oxfordshire are being asked to send us their class photos.

We are running a special eight-page supplement on Thursday, April 11 and need photos from nurseries and pre-schools in and around Oxford to be submitted by Thursday, April 4.

Please could staff email photos to: nurseryclassatoxfordmail@newsquest.co.uk

Nurseries and pre-schools are a vital stepping stone to school life for children.

Nurseries will take children from ages one to three while pre-schools generally take children from three to five.

Some pre-schools in the county are rated outstanding, including Hanborough Pre-School near Woodstock.

Hanborough Pre School was given the outstanding score following an inspection on May 25 last year.

thisisoxfordshire: Staff at Hanborough Pre SchoolThe pre-school was the first in Oxfordshire to be rated ‘outstanding’ under the new Early Years Inspection Framework.

The Early Years Inspection Framework was a reform brought in by inspectors in 2022 and is considered to be more rigorous and challenging than the previous framework.

Inspectors now make judgements on the ‘overall effectiveness’, ‘the quality of education’, ‘behaviour and attitudes’, ‘personal development’, and ‘leadership and management.’
