A Thame care home is vying for a national honour at the Care Home Awards 2024.

Cuttlebrook Hall, on Stock Road, has earned a spot in the final in the 'Best for Indoor and Outdoor Communal Spaces' category.

Alana Corr, home manager, said: "We're delighted to have been nominated for this award - it's incredibly rewarding to have our beautiful home recognised nationally, especially so soon after we've opened."

She added: "Thought and care that has gone into making Cuttlebrook Hall a wonderful place to call home, right from the initial plans to choosing the right shade of paint for the walls, and I'm incredibly proud of the whole Cuttlebrook Hall family for getting us here."

Opened in October 2023, Cuttlebrook Hall is a new care home aiming to offer "high-quality" services for seniors.

It has wide corridors, tactile corner handrails, and additional lighting, to benefit residents.

Specific features were included to maintain a dementia-friendly environment, with conscious choices of colour schemes and floor coverings to assist those living with dementia.

Cuttlebrook Hall's premises also host communal spots like the John Boddington pub, a cinema room, and a bistro for socialisation, along with libraries and a hobby room.

The home offers full-time residential and dementia care, along with short-term respite care, allowing residents to have enjoyable, fulfilling lives.
