THE River Ray at Islip has been placed on the highest level of flooding alert.
The Environment Agency this afternoon placed the catchment area, between Shipton Lee and Islip on a Flood Warning.
That means flooding of property is expected and people are advised to prepare in case of evacuation and move valuables to safety.
Five other rivers in Oxfordshire are on a flood watch, including the River Thames from Sandford Lock , at Sandford-on-Thames to Whitchurch Lock, near Pangbourne, and the River Cherwell, Evenlode, Ock, Thame and Windrush.
Flood watch means low-level land may be flooded.
There are also reports that the A420 is shut at the Botley interchange.
