Green is happy after marked improvement MAN-of-the-match Alan Green was delighted with the massive improvement as Stars romped to victory against Vectis Tigers.
Stars crashed 7-1 against Peterborough Islanders in the League Cup last week, and Green said they were determined to put things right.
He said: "It was a big improvement. We trained hard in the week, and a lot of guys wanted to put that behind them.
"We were a bit disappointed about the goal they scored, and we still have a long way to go.
"But it's nice to see the difference already.
"It looks like the team is starting to gel, and we are still missing Jacob Smith.
"We now have a weekend off and will train hard for two weeks for our game against Cardiff."
Head coach Darryl Morvan echoed Green's thoughts.
"It was a much better performance," he said.
"It is very easy against weaker opposition for a team to become fragmented and to stray from what they should be doing.
"But the players applied themselves well.
"There are always development areas.
"It was a lapse in concentration that allowed Vectis to score their goal - a reminder that we cannot afford to be complacent.
"All of the team played well, but I was particularly pleased with Kent Johnson, Joe Oliver, Mark Krater and Aidy Haigh, along with Patrick Knightley and Lee Stobie.
"Despite sometimes having to sit out for a protacted period of time due to penalties, they came on and did a tremendous job.
"We now have plenty of time to prepare for a challenging fixture against Cardiff.
"I'm very confident that we will be able to acquit ourselves well."
