CRAFTERS in the Littlemore community will show off their skills at a church exhibition.

St Mary and St Nicholas Church will hold its annual Harvest of Talents event from today, running until Sunday, October 14.

Artists were invited to bring their work to the venue on Thursday night for the display set-up.

Members of the public can view the exhibition from 10am-3pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and between 9am and 10am on Mondays and Wednesdays.

It is the latest in a serious of key fundraisers organised by the church, to raise money for its much-anticipated £560,000 building plans.

The church is planning to install toilets, a kitchen, new heating and lighting fixtures and to redesign the layout to make it more flexible for use by the wider community.

All changes would be contained within the current walls and will not necessitate any changes to the outside of the building, which dates back to 1836.

The collective development inside the church is called the Newman Meeting Place, after the church's famous founder John Henry Newman.

A push for fundraising began in 2016 and the church has already raised more than £178,000 towards its target.
