POLICE have released a man who was questioned after a baby was found dead in a flat in Oxford.
Thames Valley Police said following an investigation, the 27-year-old man was released without charge after answering police bail yesterday.
Police were called to an address in Cowley at about 4.30am on 9 June following a report of an alleged sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "While dealing with the reported incident, the body of an eight-month-old boy was found by officers.
"The result of the initial post-mortem examination was inconclusive, but further tests have found the child died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome."
