MORE roadworks will take place along the A34 next week, potentially disrupting motorists.

Resurfacing will be undertaken by Highways England from Kidlington to Weston on the Green, the next stage in a series of recent work.

Highways England said the work will be taken to improve journeys by renewing road markings along the A34 and reconnecting communications sensors within the road.

As a result, the A34 northbound will be closed from the Peartree Interchange to the M40 overnight, between 9pm on Monday and 6am on Tuesday.

The A34 southbound will be closed from the M40 to the Peartree Interchange overnight, between the same times.

That work will be repeated on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Diversions will be put in place for the work to take place, as has been the case with all other work over recent weeks.

For non-motorway traffic, motorists will travel along the A41 towards Bicester, then along Vendee Drive and along the A4095 through Kirtlington and then Woodstock.

Once there, they will be taken along the Woodstock Road, where they will join with the A34 and at the Peartree Interchange.

Motorway traffic will be taken along the M40 at junction 8 and down to the A40 and to the Oxford Ring Road. Motorists will then be able to join the A34 at the Peartree Interchange or Hinksey Hill.
