WITH a flurry of questionably-drawn player portraits, an East Oxford couple completed their mission to recreate the entire Panini sticker album from scratch.

Alex and Sian Pratchett ramped up their efforts in the final days of the tournament after coming 'perilously close' to missing their target of finishing all 682 stickers before the last ball was kicked.

As France and Croatia locked horns in the centrepiece of the tournament, the couple used multi-lingual announcements to herald the completion of each of the 32 teams to contest the cup.

With apologies to South Korean winger Lee Chungyong for 'making him look like he's been startled by a 4am fire alarm' and Mexican defender Miguel Layún, whose 'hair looked like a banana', the final stickers were put in place.

The 32-day challenge has already raised more than £6,200 for good causes including Cancer Research UK, learning disability charity MacIntyre and LGBT rights group Stonewall.

It's the third time the Welsh pair, who recently had a baby, have completed the feat following similar challenges during the World Cup in 2014 and European Championships in 2016.

But they have so far remained tight-lipped over whether to do it all again in two years time.

For now they are just relieved to be able to spend an evening in without having to work out the best way of capturing Neymar's ever-changing head of hair.
