A BIG screen will not be erected in Oxford for England's World Cup semi final tonight after the city council decided against it.
There have been growing calls for Oxford to have its own large outdoor screen similar to those seen in other cities across the country.,
Instead the council urged people to watch the game in the 'fantastic number of local and independent pubs and bars' showing the match.
Executive director Tim Sadler insisted the council 'loves football' and also added 'it's coming home'.
