THE main redevelopment of Botley’s West Way shopping centre is finally set to begin in earnest this week.
Contractors SDC are expected to begin demolition work after an application for minor amendments to the scheme was approved by Vale of White Horse District Council.
Work to relocate retailers and services to temporary homes began last month while parts of the Grant Thornton Building were pulled down.
Developer Mace aims to regenerate the ‘tired’ 1960s shopping arcade into a new ‘community hub’ featuring shops, 140 residential apartments, student accommodation and a 123-bed hotel.
