AS SPRING remains in full swing across Oxfordshire, the sight of fields of yellow flowering rapeseed have become a familiar one.
No better is this captured than in Jeff Higgs' winning snap of a small bunting bird amid a golden sea.
The lack of blue sky makes for a stunning single-colour backdrop to the bird perching on one of the stalks.
The slightly hazy background combined with the perfectly captured detail on the feathers and flowers made this our favourite 'spring' themed picture of the week.
Don't forget, next week we’re off on a camera club outing along the Oxford canal towpath.
On Monday, members can meet at the Worcester Street car park at 6.30pm, where they will be joined by a photographer and reporter.
In honour of the occasion next week’s theme is ‘waterways’.
