A NIGERIAN lawyer is seeking damages from Oxford University Press after claiming he gave a client the wrong advice after consulting one of the publisher’s dictionaries.
Ogedi Ogu has lodged documents with Lagos State High Court claiming he suffered a loss of reputation after using incorrect definitions, contained in 2005 and 2006 mini dictionaries for the words mortgagee and mortgagor
Mr Ogu became aware of the error when he was alerted to the mistake by a colleague.
It is understood that OUP in Walton Street has denied any liability.
The court has not yet listed a hearing date.
