POLICE are hunting two would-be robbers after a man had a knife pulled on him in a 'frightening' attack at an Oxfordshire alleyway.

At about 9pm on Monday a 23-year old man was walking along an alleyway between Cane Lane and Saville Way, Grove.

He was approached and stopped by two men who demanded to know what was in his bag.

When he showed the contents one of the offenders pulled out a knife which we swung at the victim before kicking him in the head.

The victim then ran to the Co-Op at Saville Way and the would-be robber left with nothing.

Police have since released a description of the knife-wielding offender and said he is white, in his early to mid-twenties with a goatee beard.

The other offender is described as also white and looked younger.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Charles Boshell, from the Investigation Hub based at Abingdon police station, said: "We are investigating this frightening but isolated incident and if anyone has information which could help us, please call our 24-hour enquiry centre on 101 quoting reference 43180114675."
