CAPTAIN Danielle Carlton is backing Oxford United to record the double over Aston Villa tomorrow.
The U’s travel to Tamworth in FA Women’s Super League 2, bidding to arrest a seven-match winless run in all competitions.
Coral Haines’s 91st-minute penalty denied United a point at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night.
But Cartlon is keen to take the positives out of a performance, which saw Hannah Short cancel out Katie O’Leary’s opener.
She said: “We beat Villa at home (a 3-1 win) earlier in the season and we can do it again – we’ve just got to be confident in what we’re doing, going forward.
“We’ve got to take our second-half performance against Tottenham into every game we play for the rest of the season.
“That is our strategy.
“We’ve got good attacking players and I don’t see why we can’t use them to their strengths, so we’ve just got to take that second-half performance into the Villa game.
“Football this season has been pretty crazy, with results going in ways that you wouldn’t expect, so anything can happen and it’s just comes down to who turns up on the day.”
