Fans of McDonald's burgers will have to find a new place to satisfy their burger craving while the Cornmarket Street branch undergoes refurbishment.
The restaurant in the city centre shopping street is boarded up and is not due to reopen until March 1.
Regular visitors to the 'golden arches' will have quite a hike if they are determined to visit a McDonald's - the nearest alternative is in Botley Road.
And to make matters worse for fast food fans, the crisis gripping KFC restaurants has reached Oxfordshire, with several outlets closed.
The Botley Road branch underwent extensive refurbishment in March last year when touch screens were installed to help speed up customer orders.
The McDonald's in Marcham Road, Abingdon, a drive-thru, was also closed recently for refurbishment, which included the installation of touch screens.
McDonald's has not yet revealed the details of the Cornmarket Street refurbishment.
Hungry shoppers visiting Nando's in George Street have noticed that the restaurant is currently closed for refurbishment.
It is due to reopen on Thursday.
