THE wait goes on for Oxford's Westgate centre to be totally completed.

Scaffolding still litters part of the outside of the centre, despite it officially opening in October.

Thousands of people have visited the £440m shopping centre since then but those visiting the new shops this weekend might notice construction workers and vehicles on site, as the building creeps towards completion.

When the new 800,000 sq ft shopping centre opened, it brought the equivalent of 3,500 full-time jobs to the city, along with cinemas, restaurants, bars and cafes.

Despite that, the back of the centre still needs to be finished, even if most of it is away from the eyes of busy shoppers.
