OXFORD Brookes University has been praised for saving money on basic office supplies.
The city institution was one of dozens of taxpayer-funded or subsidised organisations which responded to a Freedom of Information request from Conservative MP Craig Mackinlay to highlight wasteful spending.
While Manchester University revealed it bought reams of paper for £4.40, Oxford Brookes was managing to get them for just £1.57.
The Taxpayers’ Alliance said saving money was exercising common sense.
