ANTHONY Brine was among youngsters from an Oxford hospice who got the chance to get ready for Christmas with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.

Each year, the Duchess invites children from Helen & Douglas House to decorate the Christmas tree at Clarence House in London .

This year the five-year-old from Bicester was one of five children from the East Oxford charity who went along with their families.

Helen & Douglas House and Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity were both invited to attend.

The Duchess of Cornwall became patron of Helen & Douglas House in 2007 and Wednesday's visit to decorate the Clarence House Christmas tree was the eighth festive trip she has organised.

Anthony has Epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a rare inherited skin disorder that causes the skin to become very fragile.

Clare Periton, chief executive of Helen & Douglas House hospice, said: "For many families, Christmas is a time for spending special moments together and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

"The families who come to Helen & Douglas House for care have less time than the rest of us to create those memories.

"Again this year we are so grateful to the Duchess of Cornwall for inviting our families to Clarence House.

"It is such a wonderful, special day for our families creating some very precious times that I am sure will be treasured forever.”

Anthony features in the charity's Christmas Appeal film called 'Every Little Life Leaves Happy Memories.

"In the film the children paint their happiest memories of the hospice.

Helen House was the world's first children's hospice when it opened in 1982.

Douglas House opened in 2004, designed specifically for young adults aged 16 to 35.

Helen & Douglas House cares for terminally ill children, young adults and their families from Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties.

It provides medical, emotional and practical support, helping families deal with the implications of living with a child who will die prematurely.

As well as inviting children from the charity to her home for Christmas, the Duchess of Cornwall has made a number of visits to the hospice in Magdalen Road.
