FOR those wanting to get fit but who dread hitting the treadmill, new gym Viavi:Be promises to 'maximise outcomes but minimise time'.

The scientifically designed gym, which also does away with memberships, opened in Summertown a month and a half ago but had its formal launch on Monday night.

Members enjoyed champagne, canapes and talks by the health coaching team at the Banbury Road gym,

They were joined by celebrity guests Dr Christian Jessen, who hosts television show Embarrassing Bodies on Channel Four, and former X Factor contestant Stacey Solomon.

Claiming to be the world's first 'health gym', Viavi:Be is based around a programme made up of four components: exercise and movement, clinical nutrition, energy recovery, and managing ageing.

Due to the tailored and scientifically advanced methods used, the gym's website promises just 35 minutes of exercise twice a week will deliver 'meaningful' results and adds: "All in the most time-efficient and effective way possible – in a calm, purposeful environment under the gentle guidance and motivation of clinically trained physiologists and health coaches.

"No memberships – just outcomes."

The gym also boasts a fully customised experience with exercise machines set up and personalised specifically for each client to meet their personal goals.

Machines will recognise the person at every visit, calibrating automatically to ensure the optimum outcome.

Gym founder Dr Sabine Donnai said it was not just the futuristic technology and holistic approach that makes the gym stand out but the staff she has assembled.

She said: "The most important aspect is the guidance and support you will get from our super team who are here to help you all the time – no need for expensive personal trainers.

"You will not find a better or more informed team that is as personable and encouraging as Viavi:Be will be.

"Employed for their personality and experience, and then clinically trained by us, they have all the skills you could possibly need to be in control of your weight, improve your energy, improve your speed or rehabilitation from injury or ill health, put into action advice from your doctor or make major changes to your overall health."

She added there were no contracts or 'hidden agendas' and said: "It is genuinely born out of a passion we have to to share our expertise so you can live your life well."
