EMERGING poets are being given a platform to showcase their creative efforts with the launch of a new pamphlet press by Oxford Brookes Poetry Centre.

Ignition Press will publish original poetry from talented new poets as well as established writers working on special projects.

Niall Munro, director of the Poetry Centre at Oxford Brookes University and director of the editorial board, said: “The establishment of a poetry press is an exciting new step for the Poetry Centre, which has enthusiastically promoted the work of poets both nationally and internationally since it was set up in 1998.

“I’m thrilled that the centre, drawing upon the editorial expertise of Les Robinson and Alan Buckley, will now have the chance to become more involved with the poetry scene by supporting outstanding poets.”

Les Robinson, founder and director of the renowned poetry publisher tall-lighthouse, has been named as Ignition Press’s Managing Editor.

He was responsible for the first publications of renowned poets Helen Mort, Emily Berry, Sarah Howe, Adam O’Riordan, and Liz Berry.

The first three pamphlets will be published and go on sale in early 2018.
