A WELL-LOVE Witney pub restaurant reopens today after undergoing a major refurbishment.

The Rowing Machine in Fettiplace Road has been closed since the end of August while the six-figure job was carried out.

It opens to the public again today with an improved bar area, a 'refreshed' beer garden and improved drinks range.

General manager Thomas Parker said he was excited about showing off the pub’s new look.

He said: "The Rowing Machine is at the heart of the local community, so we want to provide our guests with even better surroundings to enjoy great food, drink and sporting events.

"We look forward to welcoming our Witney neighbours to the revamped Rowing Machine on Sunday, September 10."

The bar area of the pub has been having a complete revamp with the addition of contemporary tiling and a modern finish.

Viewing sports at the pub has also been undergoing an enhancement.

High-quality sound systems from multiple screens throughout the establishment have been installed so that guests 'get to feel like they’re at the heart of the action'.

The popular Hungry Horse venue will also see an improved drinks range with additional cask ales being introduced to the bar, to go alongside the existing drinks on offer.

The beer garden has also been refreshed, with new benches laid out across the whole area.

The pub opened its doors at 10am and will be serving Sunday lunch as usual.
