MARKET traders will cram the town centre with a kaleidoscope of culinary treats and artisan crafts.

The Flavours of the World Market will set up in Bicester next weekend, bringing an array of exotic flavours from far-flung corners of the globe.

Stalls will cover Sheep Street on Saturday, September 9 with products ranging from French cheeses to Italian biscuits, ground coffees, speciality sweets and cured meats.

Conrad Murray, spokesman for the market's organiser Savoir Fayre, said: "We have been to Bicester with our touring markets many times and have come to love the town and its people.

"[This] is a market crafted to stir the senses and appeal to locals and tourists alike. We work hard to create an international atmosphere so people can enjoy exotic flavours and unusual aromas and delight in products they might not otherwise see or buy everyday.

"All of our traders are especially chosen for the knowledge of and passion they have for the products they sell and their delight in offering tastings and explaining the particular characteristics and features of the goods they sell."

The market runs from 9am until 5pm and will also feature traders specialising in international craft traditions.

Items available include ornaments carved from Moroccan marble, colourful Turkish rugs and soaps infused with olive and argan oil.

The market, which last visited Bicester in March, is backed by Cherwell District Council to bring more footfall into the town.

Mr Murray added: "We delight in bringing stalls which offer unusual goods, a wide choice of products and good value to our customers.

"We have a record of bringing a lot of extra footfall to the places we visit, which pleases local traders.

"We typically establish a strong relationship with our hosts and in many cases our visit becomes a much-looked-forward-to regular event."
