PETE Jones checked out with 167 as Premier Section side Challow British Legion came from behind to defeat Section 1 visitors Kidlington Football Club 6-3 in the Greene King ODDA.

Jones finished with 60-57-50 for the top out-shot of the week to help Challow hit back from 2-0 down to level at 3-3.

The hosts’ other wins came from Kevin Wilkins and Dan Wyatt.

Dan Lewis, Steve Baker and Pete Smith, who defeated Andy Jones despite two maximums from the Challow player, replied for Kidlington. But the hosts took the pairs 3-0.

Section 1 leaders Cowley Workers Club raced into a 3-0 lead at home to Abingdon United FC, thanks to victories from Darren Allen, Phil Cook (180) and Jon Jukes.

The visitors pulled one game back through Jason Turner, but wins from Pete Hall and Aaran Stevens, and a 2-1 pairs triumph saw the hosts romp home 7-2.

Catherine Wheel went 2-0 ahead away to Section 2 leaders Prince of Wales after victories for Matty Brain and Tony Wetherall Rhys Kerry and Richard Reveley made it 2-2, before Tony Allday restored Wheel’s lead, only to see Mick Kennetts make it 3-3.

However, the visitors would not be denied, taking the pairs for a battling 5-4 success.

George Lounge A hit top form with a 7-2 success at Black Bull, who took the first game through Tony Wheeler.

The visitors hit back to lead 5-1 through Keith Ballard, Simon Ballard, Martin Atherton, Steve Perks and Dan Jones, before taking the pairs 2-1.

Witney Snooker Club, from the Ladies’ Premier Section, came from behind to win 6-3 at Section 1 opponents Crown Inn.

The visitors led 2-1 and 3-2, thanks to Sam Moore, Gemma Royal and Katie Moore, but Witney made it 3-3 through Maggie Dexter-Naylor, Carole Smith and Paulette Guy before winning the pairs 3-0.
