FOR the first time ever a St Gregory the Great pupil is off to Oxford University to study Egyptology.
High flying student Rowan Foulkes, 18, achieved an A* in English literature and two As in government and politics and philosophy.
She also got an A* in her extended project.
She said: “I have had an interest [in Egyptology] since I was younger and visiting the Ashmolean Museum.
“It has been a passion for me and something I have always wanted to do.
“My dad always took me there and Egypt was the part of the museum I was always drawn to, so it is great for me to have this offer.”
Top performer at the school was Hollie Saunders, 18, who achieved three A*s in mathematics, physics and chemistry, and an A in her extended project, equivalent to half an A-Level.
She will now head off to Bristol University to study civil engineering.
Other happy pupils included Max Oliver who achieved an A* in government and politics and two As in chemistry and maths, as well as an A in the extended project. Nish Paramaswaran, 18, scored an A* in maths, an A* in further maths and a B in economics.
