POLICE were called to the John Radcliffe Hospital this afternoon amid reports of a 'suspect package'.
Officers were called to the Headington site at about 12.20pm.
Spokesman Gareth Ford-Lloyd said: "We were called to the John Radcliffe Hospital this afternoon to what was believed to be a suspect package.
"Following investigation the item was found to be non-suspicious and this has now been resolved."
A cordon was briefly in place in an area outside the hospital, although reports from members of the public suggested police were also present in the West Wing. The site was not evacuated.
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust declined to comment.
