Witness appeal following three-car collision

  • A woman remains 'critically ill' in hospital after she was seriously injured in a collision involving three cars. Police officers released another appeal for witnesses following the crash, which happened on Main Road in Curbridge, near the junction with Downs Road, just before 9pm on Friday, April 14.

The cars involved were a Citroen C3, a Volkswagen Golf and a Ford Fiesta. The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a 49-year-old local woman, sustained serious injuries and is still in the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Headington. 

Those with information should contact Sergeant Bryan Smith from the roads policing department via 101 quoting 1396 14/4. 

Bikes stolen from shed

  • Thieves broke into a shed in Wolvercote and stole three bikes. Thames Valley Police said the thieves got into the ‘insecure’ shed at at home in First Turn sometime overnight on Thursday, April 20. The shed was in the back garden of a home and three bicycles were stolen.

Jewellery stolen from home

  • Jewellery was stolen in a raid on a home after thieves go in by forcing open a groundfloor window. The burglary took place in Foxwell Drive, Northway, between April 16 and 24. Police are unsure how many offenders were involved. The force has urged the public to contact them with information on 101.
  • A second burglary had occurred in the same street between the April 8 and 21. A whole house was turned over, but nothing was stolen.

Home ransacked

  • A home was ransacked before electrical items, a wallet, keys, cash and a jacket were stolen. Detectives do not know how many are involved in a burglary at a property in Woodstock Road, North Oxford, overnight on Thursday, April 20.

The home, near the junction of Wyndham Way, was turned over after it was entered via an unlocked back door. Thames Valley Police said a neighbour spotted the wallet and keys in a bush and returned them to the owner.

Burglary off Abingdon Road

  • A house in Wytham Street was burgled between April 19 and April 22. Police believe that the offenders climbed over a gate to get into the back garden, before forcing a kitchen window open to gain entry to the property. Numerous items were stolen from the property.

TV unscrewed from wall during house raid

  • A home was ransacked before a TV was unscrewed from a wall and stolen. A home in Cranham Street, Jericho, Oxford was burgled on Sunday, April 23 at 7.25PM. Other items were taken in a ruck sack, before the police were called and arrested one of two offenders.

Police 'don't know' what has been stolen

  • Detectives do not know what has been stolen following a burglary at a home in Chalfont Road, North Oxford. The house was entered overnight on Friday, April 21. A shed lock was also broken.
