CAMPAIGNERS battling to re-open a homeless hostel will take their fight to the council today.
More than 1,800 people signed a petition calling for Oxford City Council to reopen Speedwell Street’s Lucy Faithfull House, which provides shelter to those with complex needs or substance misuse issues.
It shut last January after Oxfordshire County Council withdrew its annual £500,000 funding.
Councillors will debate the proposal and make their decision at a full council meeting at Oxford Town Hall, in line with the council’s scheme to discuss petitions with more than 1,500 signatures.
