A HOUSE fire was started by an electric blanket left on at a home in Oxford.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said the small blaze, in Iffley, caused smoke to billow from ground floor windows of the property at about 11.30am on Friday.
Crews managed to put it out quickly and one person was treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
The cause was found to be an electric blanket left on and fitted incorrectly to the bed. Crew Manager Daniel Smyth added: “This incident shows the importance of having working smoke alarms in your home.”
