Emergency services were called to Burger King in Cornmarket, Oxford, after reports a man was found bleeding.

A man, aged in his 60s, was found at Cornmarket Street having gone into the restaurant before noticing his leg was covered in blood.

A member of staff, who didn’t want to be named, said he began to stagger and then went outside before an ambulance was called.

They added: “There was quite a lot of blood.”

Police and paramedics arrived at the restaurant at about 4pm and the man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Thames Valley Police spokesman James Williams could only say that the man sustained an injury ‘relating to a pre-existing medical condition.’

South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust spokesman David Gallagher said: “We were called at 16.17pm to Cornmarket Street, outside Burger King, following reports of an approximately 60-65-year-old male who had fallen and sustained a head injury.

“We sent an ambulance to the scene and he was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.”
