BUDDING dancers embraced their silly side at the weekend to re-create an 80s viral video in aid of Comic Relief.
A team from Marston dance school Mini Professionals in Oxford donned leggings and pastel shades to echo Emu's Pink Windmill Kids dancing to Can't Stop the Music in 1984.
The group has since caught the attention of the original dancers themselves and is hoping to be featured on TV on Red Nose Day this Friday.
Filming took place throughout Saturday afternoon at the Oxsrad Sports & Leisure Centre. The team has so far raised £500 and is hoping to hit £1,000 in time for the big day.
Principal Bethany Gorton said: "We wanted to create something for Comic Relief and thought this looked so much fun.
"This morning the original Windmill Kid Joe Greco found the video and tweeted it and sent all these messages.
"The kids are ecstatic. Filming went so much faster than I anticipated; the children had been practicing and knew all their lines."
All funds raised will go to Comic Relief, which supports thousands of projects to support people in poverty in the UK and worldwide.
