A MAN who threw away class A drugs when chased by police has been convicted of offences at Banbury Magistrates' Court.

Jordan Hearne, of Browning Drive, Bicester, appeared in court on Thursday in connection with charges of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, heroin, possession with intent to supply class A drugs, crack cocaine, and supply of cannabis.

The first two charges were connected to an incident in Bicester's Bure Park estate on February 28, Thames Valley Police said.

Hearne, 18, was seen behind a disused building with another man and ran off when officers approached the pair for a stop-check.

He was spotted throwing away items later found to be class A drugs, the force said. The other man did not have anything on him.

Hearne was arrested that day and charged on March 1.

The cannabis charge followed incidents of supplying cannabis in Bicester between January 1 and February 28.

At Thursday’s appearance in court, Hearne pleaded guilty to the offences.

Investigating officer PC Neil Wheeler said: "Jordan Hearne was caught in possession of several illicit substances, which we are pleased to have removed from him and consequently from the streets of Bicester.

"Thames Valley Police does not tolerate the possession or supply of illegal drugs in our communities, and I hope this sends out a strong message out that we will thoroughly investigate drugs offences and will bring those responsible to justice."

Hearne will be sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on March 23.
